Wenwei Du joined the Vassar faculty in 1994. He teaches Chinese language and literature courses. Having earned his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Chinese at Washington University, he focuses his research on Chinese drama, theatre, and film.

Mr. Du's publication includes the book Bailaohui de Zhongguo ticai yu Zhongguo xiqu (Broadway Bound: Chinese Subjects and Chinese Theatre, Shanghai: Sanlian shudian, 2002) and articles that appeared in The China Quarterly, Asian Theatre Journal, CHINOPERL Papers, Screening the Past, Mime, Zhonghua xiqu (Traditional Chinese Theatre), Xiju (Drama), Xiqu yishu (Theatre Arts), Yishu baijia (Hundred Schools in Arts) and Huanqiu yinmu (World Screen). He has also published articles as book chapters on comparative and Chinese-American drama.

Mr. Du's teaching interests include Chinese language, film, drama, fiction, and poetry.
